Extracurricular Activities

At St. Gregory the Great, we are pleased to offer the following extracurricular activities:

 

Extended Day Program (EDP)

7:15 am ~8:00 am and 2:30 ~ 6:00 pm on schools days (additional fee)

 

Band Program 

Provided on Wednesday afternoons by the Paul Effmen Music School for grades three to eight. Group lessons are offered for flute, clarinet, trumpet, saxaphone, drums and bells. Concerts are given twice a year. (additional fee)

 

Book Club 

Meets after school with the fourth and fifth grades, moderated by Ms. Aldorisio.

 

Yearbook 

Student in the 8th grade work on the Yearbook to form a lasting memory of their graduating year at St. Gregorys.

 

Art Club

Offered on Tuesdays for the seventh and eighth grades with Ms. Alutto

 

Dance Classes

Given after school for grades one to eight. Jazz and tap offered. (additional fee)

 

School Newspaper

Written by seventh and eighth graders for all grades printed monthly.

 

Peer Tutoring

Eighth graders helping younger students. In all subjects the younger children are tutored by the older peers.

 

Spirit of St. Gregory’s

A faith in action program led by seventh and eighthgraders, but involving the entire school.

 

Futurecorp

Fifth to eighth grades cooking meals for a homeless shelter. This is set up by volunteers and the entire meals from soup to nuts is cooked here at school then delivered to our local parish members and shelters.

 

Aquinas Club

Seventh and Eighth Graders working on a project for the gifted, culminating in a 20 page paper about an environmental issue. Moderator: Ms. Aldorisio

 

Student Council

Moderated by Mr. Venticinque, the student council forms a liason between the students and administration, as well as assisting at many functions.

 

Glee Club

Moderated by Mrs. Mulligan & Ms. Gualotuna & Santopietro

 

History Club

Moderated by Mrs. Murray & Mr. Venticinque
