Week of May 13th

We are still very excited to be exploring and learning how to use our SmartBoard!

This week we will begin to study our very last letter of the alphabet-Z! We will practice writing capital and lowercase “Zz” as well as practicing the letter-sound relations. We will make a list of words that begin with the letter Z.

We will continue to learn about and discuss all of the different kinds of insects. On Friday we will be getting a special visit from some caterpillars! We will get to study the life-cycle of a a butterfly firsthand and watch as the caterpillars transform into butterflies.

In our Happily Ever After Reading Program, we will begin a new story entitled “The City Mouse and the Country Mouse.”

In Math we are beginning to learn simple addition using manipulatives and pictures.

In Religion we will be learning about a a very special book called the Bible.

Homework is given each night Monday-Thursday. Please check your child’s folder and notebook each night for the assignment, which will also be posted here. Please also sign the homework each night.
