Week of May 7

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian,

I hope you are all enjoying  the beautiful Spring weather!

This week we will learn the letter Z. We will practice writing capital and lowercase “Zz” as well as practicing the letter-sound relations.

In Math we started basic addition. Children have been doing a fantastic job using manipulatives and/or pictures to solve problems!

Children will be interacted with the SmartBoard  daily as we review work that we do in class.

In our Happily Ever After reading program, we are reading “A,B,C Book”. This will be our last story in our reading program series. Children will practice identifying rhyming words. We will also review patterns using shapes and colors. Lastly, we will learn the sequence of events for children to retell a story.

In Religion, we will discuss Mothers and Grandmothers bring us God’s gift of life.

***When working with your child at home, please assist them in tracing their highlighted name on their homework worksheet. Also, when their homework is to trace or write letters, please reinforce the difference between capital letters and lowercase letters. We do this in class so reinforcement at home would be very helpful.

 Reminders:

We will be having our “Mother’s Day Tea Party” on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. Please come with your special tea mug and enjoy some tea and cookies with your child. (Children will eat their morning snack at this time). This is also a “dress-up” day for the children.

NO SCHOOL ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY due to Holy Days of Obligation.
